Seconding this. It's recently been discovered that people with clinical depression have a smaller hippocampus than what would be normal. Use of SSRIs has been shown to promote neuronal division in the hippocampal area. This might be why it can take several weeks for people to respond to Prozac, despite the fact that it starts changing your brain chemistry within hours of taking it.

To sbrainb: You are so right.....Depression can cause tons of physical manefestations....weight gain or loss, muscle tension, tmj,insomnia / or sleeping all the time, headaches, lazyness(or lack of energy), decreased sex drive...........etc
