It's strange that we have had polls to find out the approval ratings of the president and Congress, but not of the big corporations. I suspect businesses and corporations have an even lower approval rating.

And i would like to add RANTRANDOM: Where else is a person like Chomsky going to get an interview? If he was on FOX NEWS he would have the reporters crying and slitting their wrists because they would realize so quickly that their entire life is a sham. Not only that but how often is Chomsky even on TV? He's a threat to both parties not just your precious republicans. Remember, he has just as much to say about the ENTIRE US political system.

Two:He says it over and over again in interviews because people ask him, and it obviously needs to be said over because no one does anything about it. Three:hardly anyone has an original thought, and just because its not does not make it nothing. And someone who is "the most quoted man next to plato" probably has a lot more original thoughts than any asswipe you listen to.

For one thing Chomsky says what he can when he can. He did his 911 interviews a MONTH after 911 happened which was probably before they even put NFL back on the air-not only that but he consistently writes on subjects that are taboo and no one wants to THINK of especially in America-so convenience has NOTHING to do with it.

America is what it is, because of the political model available - that it is pliable to the changing needs of society - is not fully taken advantage of. You need an independent news media to help with that, and all *sponsored* political ads to be banned. No party, or movement should get an upper hand in coverage due to better corporate backhanders. Political TV "messages" should be free to air and not bought and paid for, until that happens, free-speech won't be free. TV not invented in 1987...

I should also mention that his description of what the political process is not completely accurate. Granted that the Republicrats are one big party. However, there are MAJOR differences. Possibly, not on foreign policy, but definitely on the economy.

I'm not sure what's not to get. First of all these are not original thoughts and second he just applies these ideas (the US is a polyarchy-Robert Dahl)to all these interviews. His comment about Obama's "change" is not an earthshattering remark. |
