I actually just stumbled upon this video. I forgot this song existed. I remember watching this video when I was a really little kid, back when it was big, and MTV was just starting out (and actually played music videos). I thought it was the coolest thing in the world back then. Now, it looks cheesy, but not as cheesy as I thought it would look. The tune brings back memories.

This is just like Fred Astaire's trick in that movie he did a long time ago. I can't recall it's name, but the camera and room in a roller trick is exactly the same. They build a room, with everything fixed down, inside a circular gimble rig, then he just walks as they rotate it. That's why he waits in the corners a bit, waiting for it to be angled right. Very clever stuff.

The fashion in this video is very...odd. For instance the woman in 0:31 (she also walks past him at 0:37) on the left (blonde hair, shoulder pads, white necklace, etc.), the woman on the right at 0:28, and so on. Mix of retro and 80s, lots of black and white clothing motifs.
