Nine Inch Nails uses a multitude of Music Making programs and other Hardware/Software, but They've used the program Ableton Live quite frequently. I also use the program and i must say, it's a great way to make music. I'd suggest getting a cracked version online but to be honest they are really buggy and make you want to kick something.
