i used to be like her. 5'4", 85 pounds.
it's hell on earth. no matter how much i lost, i wanted to lose more. no, i NEEDED to lose more.
one day i looked in the mirror and the reflection i saw wasn't mine. i saw a skeleton, a shadow of my former self.
i am now 103 pounds, which is still underweight, but it's better than before.

And also eating mcDonald's would be way too heavy for her to digest. You start small when you're in recovery and move up. *I don't have anorexia, but I've seen treatment.

I hope she gets better, despite her anorexia, she seems to want to get better, and I admire her for doing that campaign :-)

whats sad is that once you get the point shes at, its so much harder to recover to a healthy weight because even though you might WANT to eat, your body rejects it since its not used to a normal diet.

My goodness what a terrible fate :( . And my question would be where is the support of her parents throughout this whole ordeal?
I am a firm believer in the philosophy of prevention as opposed to cure. Why get yourself into such a horrible predicament in the first place when you know the eventual destination of that path is irreversible damage or death? That is beyond my understanding.

what's really sad is that as much as she loved dance, she can't do it anymore. when she was so sick, she fell on ice and broke he hip. at 16 years old she had the bones of an elderly woman. she has pins in her hip, so she had to kiss her dancing good-bye, and all of it goes back to a freaking teacher.

my ex-husband's cousin is an anorexia survivor. she's a sweet girl, involved in her church, so yes, she believes in God. what made her anorexic? she was daddy's little girl, and when he died suddenly, she was really depressed. all that made her happy was her ballet class. at 14 years old, 5 feet tall and all of 100 lb her ballet teacher called her a cow b/c she kept messing up a routine. so guess what? she dropped down to 60 lb at her lowest & almost died. but 10 yrs later she's healthy finally! |
