I've never seen one of these but I have a book about them. Then saw a 1 hour pbs show about a French guy planning a safari type flight into Africa following the path of the old Imperial Airways flying boats. A good film.

it was mostly used as a reconisnce plane by the us navy but could carry torpedos and bombs for the raf it was used as a coastal command scout to help neutrailise the threat of u boats anyway thats all i know hope it helps!

What was the Catalina, a scout plane or a navle bombing plane, tell me on my page, the discription is to long and im to lazy to read.
