micki free is an excellent guitar player. alot of african americans have native american blood in them from way back and now as well.

I am mostly African American, but me living in New York City, having high cheek bones, being lightskinned, and slightly fine coarse hair (still a bit nappy)......I get mistaken for Puerto Rican and Dominican way too often. I do have a small European and Native American ancestry.

New name - yes... But he is part Native American (Comanche & Cherokee) and is widely accepted as such in the Native American community. Former Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell had a similar transition in his life when he embraced his ties to the Native American culture at a later point in life. Good guitar player too....
